Critics Were Laughing At Us Before 2024 BAL Championship - Hoppers Forward

Rivers Hoopers forward Kelvin Amayo has said they were inspired by what happened to them before the championship, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Nigeria champion secured the qualification to the playoffs on Saturday after beating APR of Rwanda.

Amayo said they were laughing at them but they never relented in the pursuit of their objective.

"Everybody counted us out, but I have been saying this since the training camp in Lagos and Port Harcourt… A lot of people were laughing at what happened to Nigeria teams before, But we created a really good group.”

 “I am sorry for what happened to the other guys but the other group of guys that came in played very hard. 

They rallied for those guys. The first time we beat them by four, but it was a big game too", he said. 

Amayo scored 10 points to propel Hoopers to qualification.
