Crystal Palace have reportedly included a clear clause in the deal that brought Nigerian forward Christantus Uche on loan from La Liga side Getafe, outlining the conditions under which the move will become permanent, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

According to reports in England, the agreement between both clubs stipulates that the 22-year-old’s transfer will automatically turn into a full signing if he starts 10 matches for the Eagles during the 2025/26 season.

Uche joined Palace in the summer to bolster Oliver Glasner’s attacking options and has already impressed in training with his pace, strength, and eye for goal.

The South London outfit sees the youngster as a potential long-term solution in their frontline, but the option to buy is performance-related to protect the club’s interests.

The forward made his name in Spain with Getafe, where he rose through the ranks before breaking into the first team last season.

His displays caught the attention of Palace scouts, prompting the Premier League side to strike a season-long loan agreement that includes a purchase obligation based on appearances.

Palace are optimistic that Uche can quickly adapt to English football and provide healthy competition for Odsonne Édouard, Jean-Philippe Mateta, and Jordan Ayew.

The clause means that, should the Nigerian establish himself as a regular starter, the club will trigger the permanent transfer automatically without further negotiations.
