Five-time AfroBasket champion Sarah Ogoke has announced her retirement from the Nigerian women’s national basketball team, D'Tigress, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The veteran guard, who made her debut for the team in 2011, brings an end to an illustrious international career that spanned over a decade. During that period, she established herself as one of the key figures in Nigeria’s most successful era in women’s basketball.

Ogoke played an instrumental role in D’Tigress’ dominance on the continent, helping the team secure multiple titles at the FIBA Women's AfroBasket.

Her experience, leadership, and scoring ability made her a consistent presence in the squad through several championship-winning campaigns.

Widely regarded as part of Nigeria’s “golden generation,” Ogoke’s contribution has left a lasting legacy, as D’Tigress continue to set the standard in African women’s basketball.

Her retirement marks the end of an era for the national team, with a new generation of players now expected to step up and build on the strong foundation she helped establish.
