Dagrin's 'Ghetto Dreams' Song Inspires Me- Osimhen

Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen has said that the lyrics of 'Ghetto Dreams', a song released by late Nigerian rapper, Oladapo Olaonipekun, popularly called Dagrin was one of the things that inspired him to achieving his goals while growing up.


Late Dagrin, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Missofunyin Entertainment released the hit single 2009 in the CEO album. 'Ghetto Dreams' has influenced the lives of many while surviving the streets of Lagos.


Osimhen who grew up in one of the slums in Lagos State, Olusosun got the career hit of his life when he signed his first professional contract with Bundesliga side Wolfsburg from Ultimate Strikers having impressed at the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Chile.


And from there, it's has been different success stories for the red-hot Napoli striker who was voted Serie A's U-23 striker for last season.


Despite having a £100 million price tag, Osimhen who is in Nigeria for the AFCON 2023 qualifying matches against Sierra Leone and Soa Tome and Principe, on NFFTv talked about his humble beginnings. 


According to him speaking a pidgin English, one of Nigeria's lingual franca, "Ghetto dreams by Dagrin is my favorite track, because it inspires me a lot." 


"When we were younger, we had nothing, but dreaming about becoming Okocha, Kano Nwankwo and others while girls were looking up to becoming the next Nollywood movies diva Genevieve."
