Dallas Wings Release D’Tigress Forward Amy Okonkwo

WNBA side Dallas Wings have released Nigeria’s D’Tigress star Amy Okonkwo following the expiration of her training camp contract, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Okonkwo joined the team during the preseason and delivered impressive performances in the exhibition games, but she was unable to secure a spot on the final roster ahead of the new WNBA season.

The Nigerian forward averaged eight points and 2.4 rebounds per game across her two preseason appearances for the Wings, showing glimpses of her quality and experience at the highest level.

Despite her departure, Okonkwo’s performances during training camp further underlined her importance as one of Nigeria’s top female basketball players.

 She has been a key figure for D’Tigress in several international competitions, helping the national team achieve success on the African continent.

The former African champion is now expected to continue her professional career elsewhere as she looks to secure regular playing time ahead of future international assignments with Nigeria.
