Danish Club Rejects N1.5Billion Offer For Former MFM FC Goal Poacher

Danish Superliga club, Randers is not ready to let one of its prize jewel to go for cheap in the current transfer window after it rejected a €3.5million (about ₦1,501,770,242.65) offer from a Belgian club for former MFM FC of Lagos star, Stephen Odey, reports BSNSports.com.ng.

According to Voetbalnieuws, a Belgian club (whose identity) was not revealed recently made an offer of around 3.5 million euros for Odey.

This was however thrown in the trash by Randers, thus making the Jupiler team not to make a second bid.

In the summer of 2019, KRC Genk signed the Nigerian from FC Zurich for 3.5 million euros, but couldn't replicate his goal scoring form, due to lack of playing time as he ended up scoring two goals in 13 matches (301 minutes).

This made Genk to loan him to the Randers, and after a season the Danish club signed Odey outrightly as they paid 650,000 euros Genk.

Odey, who in November was voted Danish Superliga's Player of the Month , two days ago spoke to Danish publication Randers Antsavis about his future.

When asked about the Celtic and Rangers interest, he said: "These are big clubs, and it is clear that this is something that I want to be open to

But I'm in Randers FC, and right now that's the only thing that matters. As long as I have not been presented with anything concrete, as I said, I will not let myself be disturbed by it."

He said he was happy at his current side but open to offers if or when they come in.

He continued: "If the right club comes, Randers FC has no choice but to let me go. 

"But I am happy to be in Randers FC, and that does not change the fact that there are some rumors about other clubs. 

"For me, it's about the preparations for the new season with the team I'm part of."
