The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has appointed Danlami Alanana as the new Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Nigeria National League (NNL), BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Alanana replaces Dr. Ayo Abdulrahaman, who has been redeployed to Inter-Club Competitions at the NFF.

Alanana brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having served as the first Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Women's Football League (NWFL).

He has also held various positions within the NFF, including Secretary of the Referees Committee Unit, Players and Status Arbitration Committee, and Match Commissioners Appointment Committee.

Before he was appointed COO, Alanana served as Head of the Inter-Clubs Department. The handover ceremony took place on Thursday, March 27, 2025. Part of Alanana's experience includes working with Late Chief Oyuiki Obaseki, Charles Ojugbana, Alhassan Yakmut and Saliu Abubakar to shape the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

The NNL Friday resumed its second stanza with other matches scheduled to take place Saturday and Sunday across the country.

The match involving Kebbi United and Yobe Desert Stars has been shifted due to the unfortunate auto crash Yobe D. S. encountered.
