The newcomers stunned giants Pelican Stars 2–0 in Abiriba, with both goals coming in the first half, a result that sent them straight to the top of Group B1.

Still in Abiriba, Wazbak International made a winning start by edging Chosen Generation Angels 1–0, courtesy of Rasheedat Lateef’s 20th-minute strike.

The victory left the Lagos-based side level on three points, with legendary Ann Chiejine tutoring Ahudiyannem Queens, who held first place in the goal difference.

In Umuahia, Royal Queens and Gallant Queens played out a goalless draw in a tightly contested Group A1 encounter, before Castmog Ladies sealed a 3–1 win over First Mahi Babes.

On Sunday, Imo Striker Queens FC began their campaign on a ruthless note with a commanding 0-4 crushing of Delta Babes FC.

A first-half lone strike from Ugbala Osinachi and a second-half hat-trick from Pattra were more than enough for the Owerri Lionesses to pocket the maximum 3 points and go top of group B2.

Though the tie was halted by a heavy downpour, the match officials postponed it at the 70th minute.

The remaining duration of the game was decided on Sunday morning, with Imo Striker Queens FC jealously protecting their wide lead till the end of the game.

Also, Sunshine Queens FC announced their arrival at the Championship Playoffs in Umuahia in a grand style, cruising past Fortress Ladies of Benin with a convincing 3–0 victory.
