Unsuccessful Nigeria U23 Eagles will arrive in Lagos, Nigeria Friday morning, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

The dream of Nigeria representing Africa in Men's football competition at the 2024 Olympic in France was cut short by Guinea after a 2-0 aggregate victory. The Olympic Eagles last Wednesday at the Moshood Abiola Stadium Abuja failed to beat the Guineans after recording a disappointing 0-0 in the first leg of the last round of CAF U23 African Nations Cup qualifier. Meanwhile, the better side, the Junior Syli National recorded a shocking 2-0 win on Tuesday night on a neutral ground in Casablanca, Morocco.

The 1996 men's football Olympic champions however due lack of direct flight will have a two-day delay and will not fly to Nigeria until Thursday night. The Nigeria contingent will arrive in Lagos on Thursday with Air Maroc before moving to Abuja where the invited European based players will catch up with their flights to their different destinations.

Head coach, Salisu Yusuf had failed to qualify Nigeria for the Championship of African Nations (CHAN) and on Wednesday failed to pick the CAF U23 African Nations Cup ticket.
