Delta Sports Commission Sacks Delta Queens Coach For Gross Misconduct

The Delta State Sports Commission has terminated the appointment of Samaila Samaila Marwa, popularly known as Keshi, as Head Coach of Delta Queens Football Club over allegations of gross misconduct, unprofessional behaviour and poor work ethics, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The decision, which takes immediate effect, was communicated in an official letter dated January 15, 2026, and signed by Omajajah Onoriode on behalf of the Commission's Chairman.

According to the letter, the Commission accused the former coach of actions described as “inimical to the progress and growth” of the state-owned women’s football club.

Among the key allegations levelled against Marwa were claims of persistent bullying of players and club officials, despite what the Commission said were several warnings and admonitions previously issued by its leadership.

The Commission further alleged that the coach consistently brought the office of the club’s General Manager into public disrepute and regularly disobeyed directives from constituted authorities.

The statement concluded that the decision to sack Marwa was taken in the best interest of the team, to restore discipline, professionalism and a healthy working environment within Delta Queens Football Club.
