Deputy Senate President Donates 17.5M, 35 Motorcycles To Barau FC

The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin has donated 35 motorcycles and the sum of N17.5 million to Barau Football Club players in celebration of their promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) for the 2025/2026 season, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

According to Barau FC Media Officer Ahmad Hamisu Gwale, Senator Jibrin also unveiled the club’s new Technical Adviser, Isah Ladan Bosso, ahead of the NPFL season.

Senator Barau, who hosted the management, officials, coaches, and players, in Kano, held the reception to honor the club's NPFL promotion.

It could be recalled that the Maliya Boys recently gained promotion from the Nigeria National League (NNL) to the NPFL for the 2025/2026 season.

The Deputy Senate President urged the team to channel dedication, discipline, and hard work toward winning the NPFL trophy, describing their achievement as historic.

He expressed confidence that, given the current quality of players, the club could reach the continental stage next year.

Senator Barau also noted that the new fresh leg signed from various clubs have been brought to strengthen the squad and aim for the NPFL title.

Earlier, the President of the club, Shawall Barau Jibrin, and the Chairman, Ambassador Ibrahim Shitu Chanji, commended the Deputy Senate President for his tremendous support to the club.

Speaking on behalf of the players, Usman Maidubji thanked Senator Jibrin and acknowledged that history will never forget his positive intervention in the development of Nigerian youths.
