Dessers: "I Have Unfinished Business At Rangers"

Nigeria's Super Eagles forward Cyriel Dessers has expressed to Rangers supporters that he has "a lot of unfinished business" at Ibrox, addressing speculation surrounding his future, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The 30-year-old striker lost his starting position this season to Danilo, who is currently sidelined with an injury, and Hamza Igamane.

However, Dessers made an impact last Thursday, scoring a brilliant equalizer in the 2-1 Europa League defeat at Manchester United, before starting in Sunday’s match against Dundee United alongside Igamane.

Rangers initially fell behind after Sam Dalby’s opener, but Mohamed Diomande equalized before halftime, and Robin Proper put the visitors ahead.

Dessers then sealed the win with a superb third goal, his 18th of the season, before Diomande was controversially sent off.

When asked about his future at Ibrox amid interest from Ligue 1’s St Etienne, Serie A clubs Cagliari and Empoli, and La Liga’s Leganes, Dessers said: “No talks at all. I don’t mind that. I focus on football and what happens on the pitch—those are the things I can control. Like Sunday, I’m just happy to be out there with the team, fighting for points, and being important. That’s what I want."

“There’s a lot of unfinished business at Rangers for me,” he added.

“That’s why I’ve kept pushing in the gym, in training, and making the most of the minutes I get."

"I feel like I’m in a good place and have been for a few weeks now. I’ve been working hard both on and off the pitch, and when the opportunity comes, you have to take it. For a striker, rhythm is key, and I was happy to play alongside Hamza. We have a strong connection, and I hope it continues to grow.”
