Super Eagles striker Cyriel Dessers is set to open talks with Rangers and have a medical after a fee was agreed with relegated Italian Serie A club Cremonese.

BSNSports.com.ng sourced from Daily Record that the Gers are set to “clinch” a £4.5million deal for the 28-year-old Nigerian forward.

The Daily Record also suggest a “significant” seven-figure has been agreed upon and that Dessers is now set to open talks, have a medical and seal his move to Scotland.

A summer-long saga is now finally reaching its conclusion.

The Cremonese striker has been Michael Beale’s number-one target for the duration of the window. A physical presence is required to replace the outgoing Alfredo Morelos and Dessers fits the bill.

The Nigerian wasn’t prolific for the Serie A bottom-dwellers, but his reputation in Holland is good and he could adapt well to the Scottish Premiership.
