Di Marzio: No Premier League Club Can Pay Napoli €100m For Osimhen
Alfred Kadiri
Transfer News Expert and Sky Italia journalist, Gianluca Di Marzio has confirmed that Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen looks set to remain part of Luciano Spalletti’s squad for the new Serie A season, reports BSNSports.com.ng.
This is a twist to the different reports making the round that the striker could leave Napoli to the Premier League, with only Newcastle United showing keen interest in the Nigerian after Arsenal had their bid rejected.
While answering questions on Calciomercato, Di Marzio said: “Osimhen is not totally out of the market, Napoli President himself made it clear. If decent offers arrive, no player is out of business.
"At the moment they haven't arrived, because whoever had to shop for a striker in the Premier League did it. Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal, there are no spaces for large investments of €100m euro, the minimum amount that Napoli is asking for Osimhen.
"Perhaps the only club who has not made an offer for a striker is Manchester United, but at the moment no one has come to Napoli with such amount to astonish Aurelio De Laurentiis.â€
Osimhen, 23, who last season won the Italian Serie A Most Valuable Player (MVP) for U-23 footballers, could return to Naples on time for Napoli’s pre-season training camp.
