Nigeria's sprint sensation, Favour Ofili, has been assigned Lane 2 for the women's sprint event at the Rome Diamond League scheduled to take place on June 4, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The start list for the prestigious World Athletics Diamond League meeting was released ahead of the competition, with Ofili set to line up against some of the world's leading sprinters in the Italian capital.
The Nigerian star will be aiming to improve on her previous performances as she continues her preparations for the major championships later in the season.
Ofili faces a strong field that includes Olympic champion Julien Alfred of Saint Lucia, American duo Melissa Jefferson-Wooden and Anavia Battle, Britain's Amy Hunt and Dina Asher-Smith, Spain's Jaël Bestué, France's Hélène Parisot, and Italy's Elisa Valensin.
The race is expected to provide another opportunity for Ofili to test herself against elite opposition on the global stage as she seeks to continue her impressive form this season.
