Nigeria born Djibouti striker Akinbinu Samuel has expressed his delight following his team's latest achievement in the country, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

The former Bayelsa United player who has been plying his trades with Arta/Solar 7 for the past three seasons now was part of the team that claimed the country's league on Sunday.

He was also a key drive alongside former Arsenal and Barcelona star Alex Song as the club lifts league and cup double last season.

Speaking exclusively to BSNSports, Samuel said:

"I feel excited for winning the Championale back to back but its a lot of sacrifice this season. It was tough but we triumph, overcame every situation and now we bless God for winning the Championale back to back with hardwork, prayers and focus.

Samuel believed the team generally gave their best and the result of their resilience was the league triumph on Sunday.

"Everyone worked hard as a team. Individually, personally everybody tried their best."

Samuel contributed 10 goals and 7 assists as Arta/Solar 7 win their 2nd league in a row.

Being part of the team that won the FA Cup last year, Samuel believes they can make it another league and cup double again this season as they're already in the semifinal, with two more hurdles to cross.

"Our focus now is FA Cup because the Championale is just like history as we've won it.

"Now we're playing semifinal on the 6th of May against Gandermerine, so we're hoping we win the Cup again."

"Have only played once in the cup games this season. Sickness held my back but scored a goal in my single appearance but I believe all well and good that we'll become the champions of the Cup as well."

Nigeria born Akinbinu Samuel switched nationality to Djibouti about a year ago and has since enjoyed some level of success with his club Arta/Solar 7 although that is yet to translate into the national team.
