Doha 2024: Why I Lost To Zhendong - Aruna Quadri

Nigeria Table Tennis sensation, Aruna Quadri, has revealed the reason he lost to the Chinese star Fan Zhendong, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The African Champion started the championship in Doha on a sound note beating Hugo Calderano of Brazil in the round of 16.

He was drawn to face the World number-one Fan Zhendong in the quarter-final and it was a whitewash for the Nigeria star.

While speaking about the game, Aruna confessed that it was his forehand that let him down.

“I came well prepared today (Thursday) in the first set, but my forehand was totally not working. I lost so many points in the first set and that was not normal", he said.

Despite the defeat, Aruna remained optimisestic about returning to the winning ways in no distant future
