Don't Play Joe Aribo As No.10, Jaidi Tells Southampton Coach

Tunisia and Southampton legend Radhi Jaidi are of the view that Ralph Hasenhuttl should not play Super Eagles midfielder Joe Aribo as a No.10 in his match plan, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Jaidi, a former head coach of the Southampton Under-23 team told The Athletic: “The coach needs to use these players in the right way. For example, Joe Aribo needs to be used correctly.

"He needs to be played in a wide area, not No 10. He’s a very technical player and can innovate. If you put him in the middle and with his back to goal, that’s a big problem.

"As a coach, I think we reduce his qualities by putting him centrally. Put him in the right-hand corridor."

Aribo who scored a brilliant solo effort for Southampton against Villarreal in pre-season didn't take long to open his Premier League goal account.

The Nigerian on the second weekend of the new Premier League season scored on his home debut against Leeds United which ended 2-2 at St Mary's.

After last weekend's games cancellation following the demise of the Queen of England, Queen Elizabeth II, Aribo and his Southampton got to work at Staplewood Campus ahead of Friday's Premier League trip to Aston Villa.
