The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has handed a three-month suspension to Moroccan player Zinedine Derrag following a positive doping test, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Derrag, who plays for FAR Rabat, tested positive during his team’s campaign in the group stage of a CAF competition, prompting disciplinary action from the continental football governing body.

As a result of the suspension, the player will miss key fixtures, including this weekend’s high-profile derby in the CAF Champions League.

In a related development, Hamza Moussaoui of RS Berkane will also be unavailable for the same fixture due to a doping violation.

CAF has reiterated its zero-tolerance stance on doping, emphasizing its commitment to maintaining fairness and integrity across African football competitions.
