Drama in Ouagadougou: Benin Face Niger Republic In WAFU B U15 Final As Ghana Book Girls' Final

Benin Republic will take on Niger Republic in the boys final of the 2025 WAFU-B CAF Secondary School Championship qualifiers after both teams secured hard-fought victories in Wednesday’s semifinal clashes, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Benin advanced to the final by defeating host nation Burkina Faso 1–0 in the first semifinal. Niger Republic followed suit, edging Côte d’Ivoire 4–3 on penalties after a tightly contested encounter ended in a stalemate.

The third-place match between Burkina Faso and Côte d’Ivoire is scheduled for 8:00 a.m. on Thursday at the Stade du 4 Août in Ouagadougou, while the final between Niger Republic and Benin Republic will kick off at 5:00 p.m, Thursday.

In the girls’ category, Ghana and Burkina Faso will contest the final after delivering convincing semifinal performances. Ghana sealed their spot with a commanding 3–0 victory over Côte d’Ivoire, while Burkina Faso defeated Benin Republic 3–2 in the earlier fixture. The girls’ final is set for 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.

The regional championship, which serves as a qualifier for the CAF Secondary School Championship, kicked off on Monday, December 1, and will conclude on Thursday, December 4. All participating teams are scheduled to depart on Friday.
