Draw Against Enyimba Is A Point Gained For Akwa United- Ayeni
Alfred Kadiri
Deji Ayeni has expressed his satisfaction with Akwa United's response on Matchday 2 of the Nigerian Premier Football League; as they bounced back from their shocking home loss to Insurance to earn a point against Enyimba in Aba, reports BSNSports.com.ng reports.
It was an end-to-end encounter that failed to produce a goal or winner as the spoils were shared, and Ayeni didn't hide his feelings in his post-match reactions.
"It's not two points lost for me, as the point we got here in Aba is a gain for us, as we have earned one from the three we lost at home to Bendel Insurance.
"Am not satisfied with the level of my team but will keep working on the team, as it will get better daily.
"I have a complete team, where every player can contribute his quota. The flexibility in our recruitment is helping us, as the players that came in showed class, doggedness and determination that they want to get something positive out of the game."
"Our performance against Enyimba will also spur us on, as we head to Jos for the 3 points against Nasarawa United on Matchday 3.
"No team is invincible, give it to Enyimba, as they are a mature side, have a rich history in the NPFL and critics can't take anything away from them.
"However, this is an era where all coaches must work harder and map out strategies to win matches."
Regardless of his Promise Keepers being shy in front of the goal, as they are yet to register a goal after two matches, Ayeni opined that his players will find their scoring form.
"The goals are yet to come shouldn't be much of an issue, rather what mattered most was our tactical play in the game. However, the goals will come as we improve.
