EPL: I Will Never Forget Scoring Against Liverpool - Awoniyi

Nigeria's Super Eagles and Nottingham Forest striker, Taiwo Awoniyi, has said he will never forget scoring against his former team, Liverpool, BSNSports.com.ng has gathered.

Nottingham Forest defeated Liverpool by a lone goal on Saturday afternoon with Awoniyi scoring the only goal of the match in the 55th minute.

Liverpool signed Awoniyi after helping Nigeria's Golden Eaglets to clinch the FIFA U17 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates in 2013.

He however never played a single competitive game for the Reds owing to a work permit and was loaned to 6 different clubs before he finally signed for the German Bundesliga club Union Berlin where Forest signed him this summer.

While reacting to the game, Awoniyi said he forever be grateful for Liverpool.

"I am happy but the most important thing is three points, to score against Liverpool, I will never forget.

'I will always be grateful to them for scouting me from Nigeria. It was amazing to score against them", he told club media
