Nigeria’s Super Eagles and Fulham winger Samuel Chukwueze has downplayed the importance of his impressive individual performance despite scoring twice in Fulham’s 5–4 defeat to Manchester City, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Chukwueze, who started the encounter on the bench, made an immediate impact after coming on in the second half.

The winger produced a standout display, netting a brace and providing three assists as Fulham mounted a spirited fightback against the reigning champions.

Despite his contributions, the London side fell short, losing a nine-goal thriller at Craven Cottage.

Speaking after the match, Chukwueze expressed mixed feelings about his performance.

“For me, it’s a good feeling to score two goals but not a good feeling to lose. If I had scored my two goals and we won, it would have meant a lot to me, but for now, it doesn’t mean a lot,” he said.

The defeat keeps Manchester City firmly in the title race, while Fulham will look to regroup ahead of their next Premier League fixture.
