Three different players captained the Super Eagles in the Matchday 3 fixture of the 2023 African Nations Cup qualifier between Nigeria and Guinea Bissau on Friday at the Moshood Abiola Stadium Abuja, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Ndidi who started the game as captain handed the arm band to Moses Simon in the second half and Simon gave it to Ahmed Musa when he came on in the final stage of the game, making it three captains in a single match.

At the end, it was a disappointing showing from the three times AFCON king lost by a lone goal to the Wild Dogs and their fourth successive defeat under Jose Peseiro since becoming manager of the Super Eagles.

Mama Samba Balde broke the deadlock for the Wild Dogs in the half hour mark after he made the most of a lob pass from his skipper, to slice the ball in between the legs of goalkeeper Francis Uzoho for the only goal of the game, after he beat the Super Eagles flat defence line.

The victory sees the Djurtus leapfrog the Super Eagles as Group A new leader with 7 points, after two wins and a draw, while Nigeria are in second position with 6 points from the same number of games.

Both teams will square things up on Matchday 4 in a must-win game on Monday at the Estádio 24 de Setembro.
