Edo Female Cricket Team Qualifies For 2025 National Youth Games

Team Edo's female cricket team has officially qualified for the 2025 National Youth Games (NYG), scheduled to take place in Delta State, following a spirited elimination round against Team Akwa Ibom, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Despite intense competition and a promising start from both sides, heavy rainfall disrupted the match proceedings. 

In response, the zonal technical team made the decision to advance both teams to the national stage — a move welcomed by all stakeholders, ensuring fair representation and continued development of the sport. 

This qualification sets the stage for what promises to be an electrifying showcase of young talent and sportsmanship, as Team Edo joins other zonal champions from across the country to vie for national honours in the female cricket category.

The Edo State Sports Commission, Executive Chairman, Hon. Amadin Desmond Enabulele celebrated this achievement as another testament to the growth of grassroots sports and the rising momentum of female athletes in the state.
