Sampson Adedeji
Austin Eguavoen, head of the Nigeria Football Federation's technical department, has admitted that managing the Super Eagles comes with significant pressure, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Eguavoen, who guided the Super Eagles to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations as interim coach, made the remarks after the unveiling of new head coach Eric Sekou Chelle on Monday, which was attended by Eguavoen.
The former defender acknowledged that the role is demanding, but stressed the importance of ensuring Nigeria's success, particularly in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
"It’s a hot seat, but we need to do everything we can to make it as comfortable as possible," he said.
"It’s not about me or Eric, it’s about Nigeria and ensuring our flag flies at the 2026 World Cup."
