Egypt, Russia Confirm May Friendly in Pre-World Cup Build-Up

Egypt will host Russia in an international friendly on May 28 at the New Administrative Capital Stadium, as the Pharaohs continue their preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The Egyptian Football Association and the Russian Football Union have finalized arrangements for the fixture, which forms part of both teams’ build-up schedules ahead of upcoming international commitments. Russia has also confirmed additional friendlies against Burkina Faso on June 5 and Trinidad and Tobago on June 9.
The encounter will mark the first meeting between Egypt and Russia since their clash at the 2018 FIFA World Cup, where the hosts secured a 3–1 victory.
Egypt’s preparations will continue into June, with another high-profile friendly against Brazil scheduled to take place in the United States.
