Egyptian Premier League powerhouse Zamalek SC is reportedly on the verge of financial collapse, with the club facing an unprecedented economic crisis that threatens its very existence, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

According to reports, the Cairo-based giants are struggling under the weight of mounting debts, unpaid player wages, and outstanding transfer fees owed to several clubs.

The financial turmoil has placed the club in a precarious position, with fears that liquidation could become inevitable if swift action is not taken.

Sources close to the club revealed that Zamalek needs approximately $5.2 million to settle its immediate financial obligations, including salaries, transfer installments, and FIFA-imposed fines stemming from contractual breaches in recent years.

The situation has raised serious concerns among fans and stakeholders, especially as the club continues to grapple with administrative instability and declining revenues.

Analysts warn that unless a major financial intervention comes soon possibly through government support or private investment Zamalek could face one of the darkest chapters in its illustrious history.

The White Knights, one of Africa’s most successful football clubs, have a rich legacy that includes five CAF Champions League titles and numerous domestic trophies. However, the ongoing financial crisis now threatens to overshadow their proud tradition and sporting achievements.
