Eight Nations To Compete In Morocco During March 2026 International Break

As the global football calendar turns to the March 2026 FIFA international window, Morocco is set to emerge as a central hub for international competition. The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) has confirmed it will host a series of high-profile friendlies alongside the sixth edition of the “Morocco, Capital of African Football” tournament, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Scheduled from March 23 to March 31, 2026, the tournament will feature eight national teams. Seven African sides—Libya, Niger, Mauritania, Liberia, Benin, Togo, and Guinea—will be joinedu by Palestine, representing the Asian Football Confederation. Matches will be staged in Rabat and Casablanca.

Each participating team will play two fixtures during the international window.

Beyond hosting duties, Morocco’su national team will use the March window to advance its preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The Atlas Lions have scheduled two friendlies against South American opposition, offering valuable experience outside the African confederation.

Morocco will face Ecuador on March 27, 2026, at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano Stadium, before taking on Paraguay onu March 31, 2026, at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis.

The fixtures form part of Morocco’s strategic build-up to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be staged across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Drawn in Group C, Morocco is set to face Brazil, Scotland, and Haiti in the tournament’s opening phase.

The March friendlies are expected to provide head coach and technical staff with an opportunity to assess squad cohesion, test tactical systems, and measure competitiveness against non-African opponents ahead of the global showpiece.
