By Niyi Busari
The Nationwide League One (NLO) has confirmed the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta and the Kayode Oluyemi Stadium in Ado-Ekiti as the venues for the South-West Promotion Playoffs, scheduled to hold from July 10 to 15, 2026, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The competition will determine the two clubs from the South-West region that will secure promotion to the Nigeria National League (NNL).
In the South-West 1 playoffs, Lagos-based sides Franceex United, Ablaze FC, Hepzebah FC, and Ikorodu FC will compete for the region's first promotion ticket.
The second promotion slot, under South-West 2, will be contested by Dokkal Khairu FC of Osun State, Adeyemi FC of Oyo State, Ijebu United, and Yewa FA, both representing Ogun State.
According to the NLO, matches will be played simultaneously at both venues throughout the week-long playoffs to ensure an efficient and competitive tournament.
Participating teams are expected to arrive in Abeokuta and Ado-Ekiti on or before July 9 for the mandatory technical meeting. The league also directed each club to pay a participation fee of ₦200,000 into the Nationwide League One FCMB account (3267800014).
The NLO further charged State Football Associations to ensure that all qualified clubs are duly cleared, properly documented, and informed of their designated venues. Match fixtures and additional tournament guidelines will be communicated through the respective State FAs.
Reaffirming its commitment to maintaining the integrity of the competition, the league warned that acts of indiscipline, late arrival, and failure to present valid player licences would not be tolerated. It also urged State Football Associations to promote fair play and ensure strict compliance with league regulations throughout the playoffs.
