Super Eagles winger Chidera Ejuke finally got play for his new club Hertha Berlin in a pre-season friendly 2-1 defeat to English Championship side West Bromich Albion on Saturday, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Ejuke who joined the German Bundesliga side 24 hours to the game in England after completing his season long loan switch from Russian Premier League giants CSKA Moscow, played for 28 minutes.

The Hertha team got off in a fine start after they found the net from their first chance, as Davie Selke shot the ball past David Button following fine build-up play from Myziane Maolida in the 13th minute to give his team a half time lead.

Ejuke, then entered the fray for his first minutes as a Herthaner, coming on alongside Deyo Zeefuik, to replace the pair of vice-captain Boateng and Myziane in the 62nd minute.

Then, the game was turned on its head by West Brom in the space of three minutes. Swift first tapped in a cross with 20 minutes to go, before Daryl Dike headed in to give West Brom the lead in the 73rd minute.

It was a third defeat for the German side as they concluded their pre-season camp in England.

Recall this week, Hertha Berlin lost two tune-up matches against Derby County by a lone goal and 3-1 to Taiwo Awoniyi's Nottingham Forest.
