Eko Basketball League Climax As Hoops And Reads Face Deepbond In Epic Final

Hoops And Reads will face Deepbond basketball club in the 2024 Eko Basketball League on Saturday 28th September, 2024 at the National Stadium, Lagos,BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The EKO Basketball League 2024 commenced on Sunday 21st of July, 2024 with eight (8) participating clubs namely: Comets, Hoops & Reads, Dodan Warriors, Police Baton, LXB, Deepbond, Raptors and Heatkings. 

112 games were played at Rowe Park, Yaba and Dolphine Basketball Court, Mangoro to conclude the EBL proper leaving Hoops and Reads at the top of the Table with 26 points after 14 games played, 12 wins and 2 losses. The team topped the League having won Head to Head against Comets. Followed by Comets in the 2nd place with 12 wins and 2 losses. And Deepbond with 9 wins and 5 losses in the third place.

Meanwhile, only 6 teams qualified for the Play-off, namely, Hoops and Read, Comets, Deepbond, Dodan Warriors, Raptors and LXB.

The Playoff commenced on the 11th of September, 2014 having Deepbond and Hoops and Read qualified for the final; while Comets and Dodan Warriors will struggle it out in the third place match in the 28th September, 2024.

The EBL has produced wonderful players like Bolaji Emilaja of Deepbond, Tolani Buhari and Soji Hammed of Hoops & Read who were the West Africa Basketball Classic (WABC) superstar, Babajide Ogunsemore of Comets, and many others.
