Ekong, Etebo, Dennis, Kalu suffer Premier League relegation as Watford sink

Ekong,

A quadruple Super Eagles players may be playing in the Championship next season as Waford’s fate was sealed on Saturday, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

William Troost-Ekong, Emmanuel Dennis, Samuel Kalu and on-loan Oghenekaro Etebo may all be plying their trades in the second level of English football in the 2022-23 season.

Wilfried Zaha stepped up and converted a spot kick awarded after Hassane Kamara handled the ball in the area, though the Watford defender felt he was pushed in the back by Olise but the officials disagreed.

Kamara won't be playing against Everton in midweek after he was red carded in the 68th minute for a little nudge on Olise.

The ineffective Dennis was sacrificed for Adam Masina in the 73rd minute and five minutes later Roy Hodgson shored up the defence again by bringing on Troost-Ekong.

The result ended and hopes of the Hornes staying up, so William Troost-Ekong, Emmanuel Dennis, Samuel Kalu and Maduka Okoye will play in the Championship next season except they find suitors in the top division.

Dennis may yet play top flight football with Villarreal as the Spanish side and a few other clubs are already showing interest in him while Oghenekaro Etebo, who joined Watford on loan from Championship club Stoke City, will return to the Potters.

Goalkeeper Maduka Okoye moves to the London club next season from Sparta Rotterdam while Samuel Kalu, who pitched tent with Watford midway through the season, will join his Nigerian teammates in the second tier of English football.
