Ten-time African champions, the Super Falcons of Nigeria, have arrived in Rabat ahead of the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), where they will play all their Group C matches in Morocco's capital, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The Nigerian delegation made a colourful arrival, with players dressed in elegant green-and-white flowing traditional outfits complemented by matching head ties, reflecting the country's rich cultural heritage.
All 25 invited players travelled to Rabat from Casablanca, where the team concluded a 10-day training camp as part of preparations for the continental tournament.
The Falcons rounded off their build-up with a 2-1 victory over Tanzania in an international friendly, providing a timely confidence boost ahead of the competition, which gets underway on Sunday.
Nigeria, seeking a record-extending 11th WAFCON title, will open their Group C campaign against tournament debutants Malawi on Tuesday, July 28, in Rabat.
The Super Falcons will then face Zambia on August 1 before concluding their group-stage fixtures against Egypt on August 5.
The top four teams at the tournament will secure automatic qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup in Brazil, adding further significance to this year's championship.
The Super Falcons head into the tournament as one of the favourites, aiming to reclaim the continental crown and reinforce their status as Africa's most successful women's national team.
