Wilfred Ndidi could be on his way out of Besiktas just one year after joining the Turkish giants, with growing reports linking the Nigeria international to a move to the Saudi Pro League, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Super Eagles midfielder arrived from Leicester City last summer in a deal worth €8 million, but uncertainty surrounding his future has persisted throughout much of his debut campaign in Turkey. Interest in the former Premier League star surfaced during the January transfer window, with speculation of a return to England, although no move materialised.

Ndidi's prospects at Besiktas appear to have diminished following significant changes at the club. After a disappointing season, the Istanbul-based side appointed Italian coach Vincenzo Italiano, who is reportedly planning a tactical overhaul ahead of the new campaign.

According to Turkish outlet Ajanshaber, Ndidi is not considered a key part of Italiano's long-term plans, prompting Besiktas to explore potential transfer opportunities this summer.

Despite having two years remaining on his contract, the club is said to be willing to sanction a sale if an offer exceeding €10 million is received, allowing Besiktas to generate a profit on their initial investment.

Saudi Pro League clubs are understood to be closely monitoring the situation, with the Gulf state increasingly becoming a destination for experienced international players seeking new challenges.

While Ndidi delivered several commendable performances during his first season in Turkey, the club's restructuring efforts and change in managerial direction have accelerated discussions over a possible departure.

The 29-year-old, once linked with some of Europe's elite clubs, has not been strongly connected with a move to any major European side in recent months, making Saudi Arabia a potentially attractive and realistic option as the summer transfer window gathers momentum.
