Enitonna Emerges Champions of WW White Football Tournament
Enitonna high school has won the maiden edition of the new WW White Secondary School football competition in Port Harcourt.
Rafiu Kabir individual brilliance gave them the lead in the 64th minute before Efrabo Joseph of Nyemoni Anglican Grammar School levelled up at the clock of full time to put the game into penalties.
Enitonna won on penalties by 4 goals to 2.
Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission and sponsors of the competition Samuel Ogbuku explained the reason behind reviving the new football competition which was last played 30 years ago said the competition is to immortalize chief ww white who contributed immensely to the growth of football from the grassroots, as well as an avenue to discover talents
The NDDC boss who expressed satisfaction over the standard of play from the participating schools said some players will be under close monitoring to further their football carriers to greater heights, adding that girls will be considered in the future while the secondary schools football competition will be replicated in all the 9 Niger Delta States in the country.
Daughter to the late chief WW White, Mrs. kemi Levi, who represented the Whites family could not hold back her feelings. She thanked the NDDC boss for the great honour done to her father adding that she has already followed his footsteps.
NDDC Director of sports and Women's Affairs, Salami olaniyi expressed joy that the competition lived up to its expectations and charged the players to remain focus in both education and sports.

While champions enitonna received 1.5million
Nyemoni Anglican Grammar school runners up got a million naira.
Chairman of the Local Organising Committee Engr Promise ALAGBERE commended his committee members for a job well done dedicating the success to God Almighty and the nddc for finding them worthy to serve
High points of the occasion was the presentation of medals by former super eagles captain Joseph yobo to legends of the tournament amongst who were finidi George, idah Peter side, Victor ezeji, Mba KANU amongst others
Participating schools all got certificate for participation. The finals was well attended by sports enthusiasms.
