Enyeama, Yobo Hail Finidi George On Super Eagles Feat

Former Super Eagles captains Vincent Enyeama and Joseph Yobo have showered encomiums on Finidi George, reports BSNSports.com.ng.


After years of superlative performance as a winger with the Super Eagles, Ajax, Real Betis, Finidi was named Super Eagles 1st Assistant Coach to Head Coach, Jose Peseiro by the Nigeria Football Federation.


His input in the new look Super Eagles has been felt after the team bounced off from two defeats to Mexico and Ecuador in an international friendly matches to beat Sierra Leone and Sao Tome and Principe in the AFCON 2023 qualifiers.


The Enyimba gaffer was on the bench with the Portuguese in Marrakech, Morocco when Nigeria set it's biggest scoreline in football after the Super Eagles spanked Soa Tome and Principe 10-0 on MatchDay 2 of the qualifiers, couldn't hide his feelings as he expressed his gratitude on his Twitter handle.


Finidi's post read: "What a great opportunity and great start for the new Super Eagles. I pray for better days ahead on my new appointment as assistant coach."


Enyeama, a goalkeeping legend and Yobo, who also is a legend and former Super Eagles coach under Gernot Rohr, and are both friends with Finidi on the social media app, reacted to the post.


Yobo was first to hail Finidi, "Big congratulations bro 👏👏."


"Congratulations my dear, you deserve it. I am so proud of you. More wins Sir," said Enyeama.


Meanwhile, the Super Eagles will in September make a comeback in the AFCON 2023 qualifiers with a double-header against the Djurtus of Guinea-Bissau.
