Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle was a special guest at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos, where Ikorodu City recorded a 3-1 victory over Wikki Tourists in a Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) fixture, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Franco-Malian tactician was warmly received by Ikorodu City’s management and presented with a symbolic No. 10 jersey ahead of kickoff, in recognition of his presence.

Chelle’s visit forms part of his ongoing tour of domestic league venues, as he continues to monitor home-based players for potential inclusion in the national team. The scouting exercise is in preparation for the Super Eagles’ upcoming four-nation tournament scheduled to take place in London.

In recent days, Chelle has maintained a visible presence across Nigerian football grounds. He attended the Nigeria National League Super 4 opener at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne, Ogun State, and was also at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan, where Shooting Stars faced Nasarawa United in an NPFL encounter.

Ikorodu City acknowledged the coach’s visit in a statement shared on their official social media platforms, noting his attendance during their home victory over Wikki Tourists.

Chelle’s continued engagement with the domestic league underscores his commitment to broadening the national team’s talent pool ahead of forthcoming international assignments.
