Eritrea Football Federation Denies Fundraising Allegations

The Eritrea Football Federation has dismissed reports circulating in sections of the media alleging that it is raising funds to finance the country’s national team, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

In an official statement released by the federation, the body described the claims as false and misleading, stressing that no such fundraising initiative has been sanctioned or approved. 

The federation further urged the public and stakeholders to disregard the reports, reaffirming its commitment to transparency in its operations.

The clarification comes at a time when the Eritrean national team is enjoying renewed momentum following their qualification for the group stage of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. 

Eritrea secured their place with an impressive 4-1 aggregate victory over Eswatini in the preliminary round.

The federation reiterated its focus on adequately preparing the team for the next phase of the qualifiers, while calling for continued support from fans and partners as they aim to build on their recent success.
