Ese Brume Wins Gold, Set 6.93meters As Season Best

Nigeria's Ese Brume swept to a Season's Best (SB) of 6.92m (0.0) to win the women's Long Jump at the CITIUS Meeting in Bern, Switzerland, reports BSNSports.com.ng.  


Brume and Tobi Amusan were on the podium on Tuesday after winning gold in the ongoing 2022 Citius Meeting Bern 2022, a World Athletics Continental Tour Bronze Level meeting holding at the Athletics Stadium in Bern.


The Nigerian earned a clear victory over the rest of the field as Assani Mikaele was 2nd with 6.45m while Diana Lesti was 3rd with 6.27m. 


Meanwhile Tobi Amusan has expressed her delight after winning gold in the 100m women's hurdles : “I thank God for giving me the chance to win the race. I had some problems, but I am really happy with the race”


Amusan, last year’s Diamond League champion edged out Jamaica’s Britany Anderson by 0.02 in a seasonal best of 12.57 in a close photo-finish. Amusan improved the meeting record by 0.01. 


Nadine Visser, who won in Turku two years ago in 12.68, finished third in 12.72.
