Europa League: Balogun Cautions Rangers Against Complacency

As Rangers prepare for their crucial Europa League second-leg clash against Fenerbahce, Nigerian defender Leon Balogun has urged his teammates to stay focused and avoid complacency, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The Scottish side secured a stunning 3-1 victory in Turkey, but Balogun has warned that the job is far from finished ahead of the return fixture.
“It’s a big week with two huge fixtures. First up is Fenerbahce, and while we got a great result away, we’re facing the Special One and a team full of quality players. This tie is far from over,” Balogun told Daily Record.
“For me, it’s always one game at a time. I’m aware of the weekend match, but right now, the priority is progressing in Europe. Our full focus has to be on Fenerbahce—I know it sounds boring, but that’s the reality!”
Reflecting on the first leg, Balogun acknowledged the strong performance but remains wary of José Mourinho’s tactical nous.
“It was a great result, and we played well, but this is Mourinho we’re talking about. He won’t have been happy with how things went in Turkey, and I’m sure he has a few tricks planned. That said, we’ve taken a lot of confidence from that win, and I believe we can improve even more, especially in possession,” he added.
The decisive second-leg encounter will take place at Ibrox Stadium on Thursday.
