Europa League: My Target Is To Make The Fans Happy - Bassey
Sampson Adedeji
Ahead of the quarter-final of the UEFA Europa League match against Braga of Portugal, Nigeria's Super Eagles and Rangers of Scotland defender Calvin Bassey has maintained that his target is to make the fans happy both on the domestic and international scenes, BSNsports.com.ng can report
The left-footed cum central defender made his full debut for Super Eagles in the Qatar 2022 playoffs against Black Stars of Ghana but had been one of the players for the Scottish champion this season.
The Gers are hoping to continue their good runs in Europe on Thursday when they face Braga in the first leg of the quarter-final.
During a press conference, Bassey admitted that it was physically demanding but declared his readiness to give his all.
" We have to move forward and focus on the big games ahead. We still have a lot to play for and a lot to fight for.
"Braga is a good team, we have reached this stage and have hopes of getting further. We know we have to be at our best.
"We will take confidence from the character and performances shown against Dortmund and Red Star.
"It will mean a lot to put a smile on the fan's faces, they have been with us through the highs and lows of this season.
"We need to go out there and give it all.
"I've always wanted to play week in, week out and play at the International level. It can be demanding physically and mentally but this is what I want and have to keep driving on and working hard," he said.
