Ex Eagles Star Caution NFF On Osimhen

Former Nigeria international Gbenga Okunowo has cautioned the Nigeria Football Federation under President Ibrahim Gusau to handle Victor Osimhen's issue carefully, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Osimhen via his social media handle attacked former coach Finidi George and the attitude has sparked a lot of reactions from football fans and stakeholders.

While speaking to Brila FM radio, the former Barcelona defender urged NFF to consider a fine instead of the outright ban as some people have suggested.

" Our NFF should please handle this matter carefully, they should approach Osimhen with understanding and not in a confrontational way.

" They also respect Finidi George's role in this situation, Finidi is a mentor and he needs to guide Osimhen because the boy is still growing and learning.

I've Heard some people suggesting a ban, but I don't think that's the right approach.

The NFF should call Osimhen to order and impose a fine, not a ban.

" It's essential to give him a reasonable fine and guide him back on track, banning him him would be counterproductive for the team", he said.
