Pinnick Reveals Only Way Amuneke Can Get Super Eagles Job
Sampson Adedeji
Former Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) president Amaju Pinnick has stated that former Super Eagles winger Emmanuel Amuneke must prove himself at club level before being considered for the national team coaching role, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Speaking during an interview with former Super Eagles captain Sunday Oliseh on his YouTube channel, Pinnick stressed that success with a local club remains the key criterion for earning a chance with the Super Eagles.
According to Pinnick, Amuneke should focus on delivering tangible results with Heartland FC, where he is currently in charge, rather than talking about the national team job.
“Finidi George is doing well with Rivers United. Amuneke should concentrate on the local club he is handling,” Pinnick said.
He further emphasized that achievements at club level should serve as the benchmark for any coach aspiring to handle the Super Eagles.
“He should prove himself with Heartland FC. The club is not a small club probably win the Champions League for them, not just talk about the Super Eagles,” Pinnick stated.
Concluding, Pinnick underlined the importance of performance and results, noting that the Super Eagles coaching position is highly demanding and not open to just anyone.
“The Super Eagles is not just for anybody to handle. Let’s see your results with Heartland FC,” he concluded.
