Ex-Super Eagles Coach Backs Ndidi To Excel In Super Eagles Midfield Role

Nigerian legend Sunday Oliseh has backed Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi to excel in the Super Eagles’ midfield, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Ndidi has been a key fixture in the team since making his debut, and Oliseh believes he’s well-equipped to handle the demands of the defensive midfield role.

While speaking on Channels Television, Oliseh stressed the importance of discipline and clear instructions for anyone who occupies that position.

“Wilfred Ndidi certainly has the quality to do it. But if you’re going to play that role, you need discipline, and you must follow clear instructions that are laid down by the coach,” Oliseh said.

“That’s why a tactician’s role is very important. The defensive midfield position is, for me, one of the most crucial roles in football — you’re the umbrella for the defenders,” he added.
