Ex-Super Eagles Forward Fronts Bid to Acquire English League One Side

Former Nigeria international Victor Anichebe is leading a takeover bid for English League One club Bromley, according to a report by The Sun.

The former Everton striker is understood to be spearheading discussions to acquire the club, with ongoing negotiations taking place with Bromley's majority owner, Robin Stanton-Gleaves.

Bromley are preparing for their maiden campaign in League One after securing two promotions in the last three seasons. The club is expected to require significant financial investment as it looks to establish itself in English football's third tier.

Anichebe enjoyed a career spanning more than a decade at the highest level of English football. During his playing days, the 38-year-old featured for Everton, West Bromwich Albion and Sunderland, making over 250 senior appearances across all competitions.

Should the takeover be completed, Anichebe would become one of the latest former professional footballers to move into club ownership, with Bromley aiming to strengthen its position ahead of a historic season in League One.
