Ex-Super Eagles Striker Bags Sports Legend Man of The Year Award

Ex Super Eagles striker, Benedict Akwuegbu has bagged the 2023 Sports Legend Man of the Year award, BSNSports.com.ng reports. 

Akwuegbu, who was involved in the 2002 World Cup Qualifier and scoring two goals in the process, was recognized for his contributions to the development of the game of football. 

Recall that his performance made him selected to the 2002 World Cup Final squad where he played the only World Cup game against England.

The award, which was bestowed upon him by Solomon Omonokhua, CEO of Sports Legendary Awards was received by his wife, Ruth Akwuegbu.

Ruth on behalf of the family expressed joy and happiness over the award while commending the organizers for recognizing the contributions of her husband to football and other sectors.
