Former national tennis star, James Anukam has called on Federal Government, Imo State government and well-meaning Nigerians for assistance to regain his sight.
The former National Tennis player, James Anukam, has disclosed how he recently suffered badly from poor vision.
Anukam, who made the disclosure while speaking with Wakawaka Sports Extra, said that he has tried his possible to ensure he regains his full sight.
He also spoke on his achievements so far as a coach noting that he has won laurels having served excellently during his playing days.
His words: "I represented Nigeria in international competitions in Ghana and Ivory Coast. I played with Ajibade, Paul Ari Sahqi Abudulhi and David Izonritie Isorita and other national team players that I can't remember.
"It is not an easy task since I joined the coaching crew. But the thing that made it easy for me was our chairman, Chief Eche who was buying material for coaches. As a Coach I won National Sports Festival and a lot of them over 38 gold medals.
"The issue of sight has been a very big task. I went to Ikeja and Calabar and they said that they will do the surgery but I don't have the funds to carry out the surgery. I believe things will get better if the surgery is carried out.
"I don't have the funds for it and the little money I had have been spent on trying to get my sight back. I am urging the Imo State government and good people of Nigeria to assist me to so that I can recover my sight."
The former Nigeria International Tennis player is known to have discovered the current Nigeria number one tennis player Uche Oparaoji, Michael Chima and former Nigeria number woman tennis player Christie Agugbomu.
