By Niyi Busari
The Technical Department of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) will on Tuesday meet with the newly appointed Flying Eagles Coach, Ladan Bosso over the plans for the Nigeria U20 team ahead of West African Football Union (WAFU) U20 competition in Niger Republic, BSNSports.com.ng can report.
BSN Sports reports that Bosso who led the team to 2020 edition breezed into Abuja on Monday ahead of the meeting that will shape the technical plans for the Flying Eagles.
The meeting among other things will shape the number of players to be invited and how to manage the little time to achieve the needed result.
The biennial tournament, which also serves as the qualification for the TotalEnergies U20 Africa Cup of Nations, will get the organisation's activities underway for this year.
Despite few weeks to the commencement of the tournament, Nigeria is yet to open camp which makes it difficult for the team to succeed when rivals, Ghana and Côte d'Ivoire have been in camp since 2021.
It will be held in the capital Niamey from May 7 to May 20, 2022.
Title holders Ghana will compete with rivals Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Cote d’Ivoire, Benin, Togo and hosts Niger for the coveted trophy.
They will also be vying for places at the 2023 edition of the U20 AFCON.
