FC Cincinnati General Manager Chris Albright has explained why the club opted to extend the contract of injured Nigerian midfielder Obinna Nwobodo, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The former Rangers International player signed a new deal on Thursday, extending his stay with the Major League Soccer side through the 2027 season, with an option for 2028.
"Since arriving three years ago, Obi has been a fundamental part of our success," Albright said.
“He’s relentless in how he approaches the game, both on and off the field. He’s also an exceptional teammate and leader within our group. We’re thrilled to keep Obi and his family in Cincinnati,” he added.
Nwobodo has made 117 appearances for FC Cincinnati since joining the club in April 2022 from Turkish Süper Lig side Göztepe SK.
